IT Operations Manager

Family owned and headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, we have a leading development and manufacturing facility in the heart of the industry hub, Guangzhou, China in addition to an international supply chain network. We help companies solve their hardest technical challenges, scale production, expand product lines and colorways, build a brand-loyal customer base, and act quickly on new ideas.

As our global team continues to grow rapidly, we are in search of an IT Operations Manager who is equal parts analytical thinker and clear, cross functional communicator. Our idea candidate is an experienced problem solver who can monitor the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays, increase efficiency, and support the needs of our growing team.

Integrated into the Operations department, this newly created position will lead IT activities to ensure that systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely to achieve the business’ operational and strategic goals. Responsibilities:

  • Continually improve our IT systems, security, and safety; resolve user IT needs

  • Scope, manage, and negotiate vendor contracts for IT related activities

  • Plan hardware lifecycle; support hardware and software management for employees

  • Manage access to software for onboarding and offboarding

  • Manage system upgrades, data migrations, and API integrations

  • Write SOPs and documentation for IT related activities users and technicians such as FAQ documents or employee handbooks for IT department personnel

  • Introduce new methods to streamline the upgrade process, monitor the system to ensure that it remains stable and usable, and maintain data security through the migration process

  • Coordinate customized, relevant training presentations and programs for employees and management 

  • Manage IT budget with oversight from Senior Director of Operations and Director of Finance

  • Evening call(s) with our team in China, as needed

  • Travel is a requirement for this position and will typically include 2 international trips per year and domestic travel to see clients as needed. Travel is currently suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will resume when safe

What we’re looking for:

  • Local to Minneapolis, MN or Boston, MA or willing to relocate and travel regularly to both post-pandemic

  • 5 years of leadership experience

  • Extensive knowledge of technology principles, best practices, and practical application; familiarity with creating, assessing, and improving processes + SOPs

  • Strong experience with technology; prosumer level understanding of Apple software and hardware required

  • Familiarity with API setup and integrations preferred

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and move between them quickly; disciplined and detailed working style

  • Demonstrated, strong interpersonal and communication skills in the English language; business proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese and/or Vietnamese is a huge plus
